thanks bob, after 2 hours on tuesday and 8 wendsday,i finally finished the arch,i was TRYING to make it look a little like marble, you might have to click on the pics to see it well though.
next i am going to clear coat it and the other 3 walls.
it went from this... to this,..i also have to finish the columns out and trim the room. the wall in the arch is going to be a wood panel, stained red cherry, and the white parts around the door will be the same. i tried to make it look like one piece by wrapping some of the color and veins around the arch.

thanks bob that makes it worthwhile.
i just finished the ceiling trim,i made it myself with 1x4s and colonial trim, then some extra gingerbread, lights and flooring, you will probably need to click on the pictures to make them big enough to see it all.
my wife wanted a Victorian style room,so this is what i have so far, alot more to go,lol, john now i have to finish the bottoms of the arch, then trim the floor and windows. i also have to trim around the interior doorway and the outside door. i found some cool corners ,and also made the trim 2 tone, honey ak and red mahogany .i also put together a trim piece for above the arch to hold the light. the interior of the arch is "blondewood"stained red mahogany, and the polyurethane d. the floor is a laminate Brazilian cherry.john

thanks ron,i appreciate that,i have alot of time spent in this room.
and have alot more to go,lol.
the light im not too keen on its a halogen and it had a 50 watt bulb in it,it got really hot,so i replaced it with a 20 watt, not much difference,so it wont be on much, lol.

lorraine and i wanted a victorian look in the room, and we lucked out big time finding two floor lamps (brand new)by "dale tiffany" for 28 bucks apiece. i think they will be perfect for our victorian room.

Well John, we will just get that wood on the way. That room is far more important than the money. I have learned in my 50 years on this planet that money seems to get in the way of far too many important things.

i found out i can replace the halogen light with a LED bulb, but that aint happening soon,26 bucks, lol.
all thats left inside is the trim and marble tile window sills,i had the black marble left over from doing the window sills when we bought this place, but im going to have to be very careful, because i have just enough ,and they need cut in half with a wet saw,and marble breaks very easy with the grain.
i cant wait to finish this room, lol.
i just found out our faux stone is SUPPOSED to be shipped tomorrow, heck its been almost a month since we ordered it.john

thanks ron,the panels are 2x4 feet, and interlock, and are attached with liquid nails glue and screws,im going to go out and trim around the large window with vinyl brickmold as soon as the grass drys up,i hate wet feet ,lol, lol.
then i will start installing them,i also intend on caulking all the seams just to be sure.when i install the liquid nails i will put it on vertically so IF ,any water does get in it can drain out.
the first row will hang 3/4 of an inch down past the sheeting ,so it acts like a drip edge.
we were very worried about ordering this stuff just from a picture, but now that i have it in my hands,it really impressive, and i have been building and remodeling homes for many, many years.

lorraine wanted the concrete faux rock, but i was worried that it would be too heavy to just hang off of mesh and screws,at about 8lbs a square foot, this stuff is about 8 lbs per panel.
even the fellow that sells the concrete stone told me the same thing.
and the concrete faux stone company does not want it attached to osb, because it will pull out the screws.
now if i were going to install it from the concrete porch floor and up,i probably would have done it,but 3 sides of the addition it would just hang from the screws, because you need a vapor barrier over the wood.

i guess if you would use the heavy stone panels you would need to put around a 6"x3' deep footer up against your foundation.

yep,ron thats the only way i would do it.
i have also seen videos of the concrete faux stone having problems with water damage, especially the dry stacked look.
dont get me wrong that is what i wanted too, until i poked my nose around the internet.

thanks bob,its made of closed cell polyurethane ,they even use it in fountains, and its been used in canada and alaska,
its from a miami company called Antico Elements, they have a website at AnticoElements.com ,they even make a wood look siding.
