Sea King Boats, Trailers, and Outboards

Montgomery Ward & Company

West Chicago Avenue

Chicago, Illinois

Sea King boats, trailers, and outboards were sold by Montgomery Wards but were built by a variety of manufacturers such as Chris Craft, Fort Dodge, Span America, Speed Queen, Super Craft, Wizard, and Trailorboat. The line of outboards motors were built by Gale (a division of OMC) and later on by West Bend/Chrysler. Carl P. Stapleton was sporting goods department manager for Montgomery Wards & Company in 1959 (May 14, 1959 Wall Street Journal).

Wards promoted their boating products in their 1958 to circa 1961 "Book of Outdoor Sports" or "Outdoor Sports Book". Prior to then, it was the Wards "Hunting & Fishing Book".
