I made one out of aluminum and sprayed it with black wrinkle paint. I think it turned out nice. One other idea I considered was to make one out of clear plexiglass and painting the back black but I always seen to crack the stuff when I drill holes in it. Before settling on the aluminum, I had a piece of wood grain laminate fabricated but it curled when it was stored outside. I also located some wood grained shelf liner but I didn't think it would stand up to the elements.

I reproduced the Glasstron Carlson side emblems and will share that story if anyone is interested.
