I have a 1963 Dunphy 17' lapstrake with a '63 Mercruiser (first year Series I Serial#1534831). I need help either finding parts for this out-drive or advice on upgrading to a newer model that has better parts availability. The engine is the 4 cylinder "Iron Duke"
used in many glass boats.

Unfortunately, prior to 1967 models, interchangeability is minimal.

There were several manifolds used and there were #1 (14" Dia prop max), #1 A,B,C & #1 A,B,C with EZ shift all prior to 1967. All the #1 A,B,C and later until today use a 16" dia prop. The bell housings varied slightly and so you are limited unless you change the entire engine & drive to 1967 and newer.
