TOPIC: need a little help

This old 1950's fiberglass shell is in a garage in the midwest. The owner wants to cut it up and toss it into the dumpster. I wanted to see if anyone could identify it before that happens. The original identification plate has been removed, and I can not find a the serial number stamped anywhere in it.
It is in the style of what I would call a day cruiser by todays standards.The steering is closer to the rear of the boat behind the 'cabin' area. If anyone could help me identify the manufacturer that would be a great start. |

i would grab it and stash it, i have plenty of room but not much gas money, i always wanted a cabin cruiser and to find one with fins. could not get any better than that. is it close to minnesota? frog

He still has the windshields, and the steering column and cables. Other than that it is really just a shell. Does it have any value based on the classic 50's style?

The windshields and the cabin look right. The front of this boat is a rounded. These pics seem to have a pointed nose from what I can see for the carribean.

Great info on it. Where about is it located? I am sure more help will be avalible if we know where in the country this boat is located. As for value it really depends where it is sitting at. What shape is the hull in , is there any rot, how much of the boat is there, long or short shaft transom, has the hull developed a hook from sitting unsupported for along time? If you could help with this info there will be more members that could help you out with your questions. Thanks, Skip.

The boat is along the Mississippi River in Dubuque, Iowa. It is being supported off the ground both front and back so a hook should not be an issue. It has had some fiberglass work done to it as you can see in the picture, but I have no idea beyond that. There are not any instruments left on the dash. As I said, it is truely just a hull.It seems to have a short shaft transom, but I am not an expert on that. The interior of the boat on the floor is still very solid. The original steering wheel and cables are there but pulled fropm the boat.
It is definately going to be a major project that neither myself nor the owner have the time or the desire to take on. I can get some more defined pics if anyone is interested. |
