Evinrude & Johnson sold an inboard/outboard boat in the 60s that had a 2-cycle OUTBOARD power-head mounted inside the hull & driven by an OMC outdrive. - fyi, i used to fish out of one on Lake Ponchertrain near New Orleans.

fwiw, i've always wondered WHY that OMC did that, inasmuch as they had the 155HP Buick/Jeep V-6 available in the SAME hull?????
