I managed to round up all the things that I need for my small project this year. My 1968 hydrocycle & 1973 merc. I've had all this stuff for years but never managed to get around to it. So, this year I thought I'd do it.

The only thing I needed was a trailer.

I rescued a boat a month back with a tee nee trailer but the back end was bent down a bit (as most are with heavier, waterlogged boats)... so i cut off the back 4 feet of it and used it for this. I saved the fenders (in perfect shape) with the fins for my meteor and stored them.

I think I'll hit the water & cruise the back channels, calm rivers & smaller unexplored areas... maybe fish too.

Of course, I'll have to make a few additions to give it that special touch... stay tuned on that. (any guesses what I'll do?)

Thanks for looking.

Cool ride! Looks kinda like a old SeaDoo X4 hull. Though a lil wider in the beam & transom?

Hope ya get it seaworthy. Looks really neat!

There is only one thing you would do to it and thats put fins on it. I know you Kelly and you need fins.

Get a used motorcycle throttle with the clamp style cruise control, then rig a heavy spring on the throttle mechanism under the hood so it'll return. Then, rig a kill switch/wrist band thingy so you don't die... because you will fall off at least once.

If it'll stop raining, I might get out there & do something. I don't have a garage.

Everyone that knows me knows that I have a love of the simple black & white cop car theme.

So, we'll make this I think. Mini fins, little bullet tail lights, fin caps, police lights, maybe an inset single headlight / air scoop looking front end... who knows.

Cruise around, explore, make people go slow around me. etc.

A few rough ideas:

I knew it you had to have fins. The drawings look great. I will be out that way about the end of the summer so will have to see how it looks. I got maybe 3 motors to pick up over there.

A "Boat-Cop Hydrocycle", with fins! I love it. Kelly, you are a true visionary.

Thanks, Originally this idea sprung up years ago when I got it but its sat in storage for some time. Some of the other concept drawings had a gun on it and even C.H.iP.s on it.

...which brings me to my next stunt.

It goes one of two ways.

1. Either whip up a continuing series of articles on how to get a classic look out of common items

or

2. A competition between those of us that can visualize (and draw) something they want to make... like a super classic one of a kind boat, or concept fenders, whatever.

but probably both... heh heh.

For #2: Check it out, a boat I drew a few years back using a glasspar G3 as the beginning platform. Headlights from a truck, some edsel looking grille, tbird style tail lights, fins (made up) and there you have it. The "Glassic"

Anyone feel like building one? :silly:

The opening article will follow shortly.

I love the finz but I have always been a art-deco girl. This is one I call the Balooga.
