TOPIC: 59 Lake & Sea

Boy am I excited! This one is not mine but it was previously my fathers. We traded it in on the 65 in the picture. The local storage locker guy rescued it from a locker.

He is painting it for a parade vehicle behind his vintage Chrysler. The windshild was broken and the motor was frozen. The boat is completely sound.

It is a shame it will be in dry dock but who knows down the line! I think I have some old pictures somewhere. The boat was pink on top. What 14 year old boy wants a pink boat.

I hated the boat because it was a pain to haul skis and gear in. Time changes all. I would love to have it now.

Sweet boat! I've got the same year/model. I think that I'm going PINK when I do the restore, too- Just because I HAVE to. It screams 50's....

M: Interesting story . Stay in touch with the current owner . Maybe you guys can trade something & have your family hull back again someday . . You can double check the mfg brochure , MAYBE the color was actually CORAL..!!
. Yes ,I had a dual wood Wagemaker, listed as Pink on the bottom in a Bob Speltz book , so had to go that route, but looked good in a show.

. I heard the Mich version of Lake & Sea is the hot ticket to own . Interesting history about this design make by about three different mfg.

I will stay in touch. He is a friend so it is at least good the boat is in good hands. I believe the original color was coral (pink to a 13/14 year old boy). I could find no soft spots in the boat. It was alway kept in a boat house when we owned it. It must have been taken care of afterwards.

I have a feeling this isn't the end to the story. I will post some pictures when it is painted next week and keep everyone posted.

From what I know... that dash signifies the model as a 'Custom'. I have the same dash on my 1960 'Custom Carribean' the bottom and top part of the stearing wheel should be clear with gold flake too, under that white paint... I haven't taken my dash off, but I believe the 'Custom' dash is simply attached over the regular model dash...

This could be a great Redo.
