Hi folks, I found an old thread (which I have now lost). The owner's boat is almost a perfect clone for mine (less the Starcraft side emblems)! I will add a picture. He is a member but I am not sure of his user name.

Questions;

1. What does one use to get the white rub rail back white from 15 years under a cover?

2. Where would I find a new bottom gasket for the windshield?
3. Where would I find vintage seat material or something close?
4. The gel coat has some small pin holes and hazing. Is it time to strip and paint?

The owner says it is a 15 foot 1963 Starcraft Saber. I am sure my dad told me our boat was a 1965 but who knows! Maybe someone purchased the molds and built a knock off.

Who ever did the boat his interior and exterior are identical to mine.

Bob

I didn't get the attachment. Try again. There are some pictures of my interior on one of the older posts.

Oven Cleaner and a brass brush. Be sure to tape off the aluminum and boat with VINYL ELECTRICAL TAPE- and plastic... it will protect the aluminum and the paint/gel

2. Where would I find a new bottom gasket for the windshield?

Wefco Rubber, or Taylormade (use google)

3. Where would I find vintage seat material or something close?

It's plain vinyl, and electro-pleated vinyl is available from a number of automotive interior sources.

4. The gel coat has some small pin holes and hazing. Is it time to strip and paint?

Only if YOU don't think it's nice enough to suit YOUR tastes.

They used the same hulls/decks for several years. Often changing nothing but the model name. The boat looks alot like my '67 Starcraft Polara... except the windshield and dash area (they went to the square-type windshields). Those seat-frames look just like mine with a slightly different pattern.

Who ever did the boat his interior and exterior are identical to mine.

Here is another picture of the 63 boat. The owner is "bilgewater". I wasn't going to post this picture but there is a similar on on his page.
