OK folks, Here is the family boat. It has not run since 1995. The motor is stuck. It is for sale for a couple of hundred bucks with no takers.

Is this one worth saving. I don't know the brand. The motor is a 85 Evenrude. I think it is still solid.

I don't know if I have the time, energy, or money. I think the boat is a 1965.

I've seen those shapes on the step pad as a boat logo. I don't know which one, but I'm sure someone will.

I took a quick look at the file Starcraft in the library section. The 1965 Starcraft Juniper looks just like this boat. This boat originally had the same soft top. I have lost the original frame. I am sure it was a Starcraft knock off.

Those are bird feet on the step pad. A very common design used by many boat builders.

Darn right she's worth saving.
Even if it isn't a total restore, or worth lots of money restored, it is a boat that will never be made again.
Polish it up and take friends and family out on the water, that in itself is worth tons. But then thats just me.

I'm on your team Neil, I think they're all worth restoring/rejuvenating/whatever you want to call it. Any way you can keep one alive, or bring her back from the dead, it's all good and well worth the effort, IMO!

Well.............I think you guys have done it. I have had no offers and the more I think about it maybe I should get this boat back in the water. I have a million (at least a couple dozen) questions but this place looks like it provides plenty of help. I will sign off of this thread and start a new thread about the restoration of my 1965 Bobcraft!

It is a cool boat and I would have been interested, but we have found our boat. It looks like a little shinning and seats and get the engine running, it'll be good for a little fun.

I guess when I was younger I always wanted a I/O or a jet boat. This thing has been in my back yard for 15 years. I had no real interest. Now that it is out and I look with fresh old eyes.......I really like it.

You've seen the light!!! I saw the light too with a craft much like yours...i bought it for $100 in '02...it's a '65 White Canoe Co. 17' runabout that had a dead '72 85hp Johnson and weeds growing out of the floor. 8 years later I am still trying to get it fixed up. I often just stare at it and picture all the great times I will one day have with this gem. It is a fun and interesting hobby!! Good Luck!!!
