TOPIC: 1959 american marc cat on the water video added

Well today was her first voyage with me , I took her to Frenchman's lake in norcal it is about 50 miles away from me . And aside from a trailer tire issue it went without a hitch.. This boat can boogie!!!!!! I did a little tooling around at slower speeds just to kinda re break in the motors , and after a little adjustment she was great . This boat jumps out of the water and will hit just under 50 mph , I am impressed , the handling is unbelievable she is a carver . and super stable. I took a couple of pictures and had my girlfriend take a video, Hopefully i will be able to download and put a link in here . I wish that someone would make a new small catamaran that would be as good as this one . It handles rough water no problem , and the motors aren't even trimmed where they should be, i was getting spray just behind the driver seat so if they were trimmed up i would say another 4 mph easy ..

Lookin' GOOD Johnny, glad to hear it went well. It's hard to describe that first ride in your 'Glassic, but it is euphoric for lack of a better word. Cant wait to see the video too. Just load it up on you-tube, and paste the link in your text. The staff has it fixed so that it will display like a champ!

I gotta say, I sailed am 18 foot cat for a couple of years and if the motor version performs nearly as good then you got one sweet ride, looks awsome.

There's a yellow/white American Marc cat just like yours about 15 miles from me. Not near the condition as yours though.
The cat ride is much different than the monohull ride for same size boat. I had a '61 Power Cat 18C similar to your boat, actual length about 16'6", with twin 55hp Bearcats on her. Huge inside with the full 8' beam.

Well she has found a new home. I was really wanting to keep her but just getting laid off won't allow me the luxury of keeping her. But I have a member that is buying her and she is going to missouri. The member's name Is Huck , seems like she will be treated well and looked after for years to come..

Thank you John, and thank you Fiberglassics. I am going to get to adopt the American Marc and an very excited about the prospect. I would have never known about a classic fiberglass boat had it not been for me happening to get a 63 Flying Scott and starting to pay attention to this website. Lots of good info here. I'm certainly going to be a member for some time to come. Thanks all.
