Both are 3 cylinder with large lower case, but not sure if the swivel bracket can mate up. Has anyone done this swap before? I can get the motor for $750 (has a bad cylinder). Not me. Hard to tell looking at the pictures on Marineengine.com. It looks like the '85 T&T is internal in relation to the transom bracket, while the T&T for the '73 is likely external with the a bracket that bolts to the motor housing. Here is a picture of the one I bought for my 1974 70 hp Evinrude.

My question is can the entire pivot mount be swapped, so the complete newer is used. They changed in 77, but not sure if the mounts changed and can be swapped?
