Can anyone explain to me the difference between the WX and the WXH model Car Toppers other than a 20 lb difference?
The 12 foot WX is supposed to be 56 lbs and the 12 foot WXH is 76 lbs here are 2 to compare. I am not sure which model these are but they do appear to be the same. I have seen others that do not have the intermediate frames that these two boat have. Maybe that is the difference? Any Penn Yan experts available to comment?
Thank you in advance
Jim

KNOXVILLE MEET, really sweet one showed up last Saturday for the meet. Enjoy the contrast .! My friend Roger H , just finished setting up the 7 liter Miss Windy , prior Buffalo racer for the vintage circuit. .Cell phone pic , but not bad, sun came out later in am . LOTS of Tee Nee trailers under restored Feather Crafts.

Nice!! I guess the only difference is the WX has no intermediate frames between the main frames and the WXH (add the "H" for heavier built) has them.
I am not restoring on myself I had a buyer looking for a WX model which seem to be a bit more far and few between than the WXH model. It is only a 20 pound difference in the boat over all.
The one I have pictured without the motor is in original condition. I was only rowed a few times and never had a motor on it.

g3: Your " H " code question may be very similar to Old Town canoes of the same era. When a optional Sail package could be used. .Families ordered the HEAVY weather version or HIGHER sides for slight safety increased flotation, or the extra gear (Weight) capacity rating.

. Canoe restore collectors measure / find a extra plank that were added to the sides. ? Done on Joe Saliga & believe Old Town mfg.

The H refers to the half ribs in between the main's and you also get a transom knee which you do not get on the WX model.
