The festival was being held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of George Reis winning his 3rd consecutive Gold Cup in the El Lagarto in 1935. The Gold Cup Races were held on Lake George, NY in 1914,1934, 1935, & 1936. Unfortunately it was very rough all day so they weren't going anywhere near top speed when they went out to run them.

Boy, if I went there with my Thompson I would feel like Cousin Eddie pulling up in the Winnebago in National Lampoon's "Christmas Vacation". Those boats are what dreams are made of. I hope someday I can go to a show like that. I would have to wear a bib to keep up with all of the drool. Keep the great pictures coming.
