TOPIC: It's a "Gato" trailer

According to DMV the trailer under my Su-Mark is a 1960 Gato. The tag on the trailer, as you would guess reads "Gator". I will have that corrected when I do the transfer. I will be restoring it next month and reading all the info on this forum gives me lots of info and ideas. My trailer is a model 216 and has 570X8 tires. Are these stock for this model? I see some have 10.5 's on them. It also has normal fenders and not the cool looking ones. They are cracked up some but not beyond repair. I dug through my storage shed and came up with a spare wheel and tire and a new set of bearing buddies so all I need is wood, carpet and paint.

DMV has their own odd abreviations. I am going to bet they won't change that and I believe Gator is correct. DMV just has to make everything difficult....

I've got a 1960 gator. If I recall the wheels/tires are 12". Do you have the original wheels? They should have clips for hubcaps.

I had the plain fenders, too- But I've since found a set of Super Gator fenders that I'll be adding when I find the time.

Good luck on getting the docs changed, DMV can be a PIA when it comes to that!
