TOPIC: My first boat!...1972 caravelle tri-hull

So after searching...finding many boats that were usually a basket case and many miles from me I found this here in my hometown. I had my heart set on the 50s 60s year boats....but this was such a good deal and in almost perfect shape. I purchased from the second owner and it has always been garaged...has all manuals and even has a fully enclosed canvas set. We tested it on the water...has a mercruiser 120 and its the cleanest motor ive ever seen. I will post more pics when its here at my house. Only issue is seats have a few small tears ...bimini top has a small tear and gelcoat is fading a bit and trim guage doesnt work. And i wasnt to excited about the green color but its growing on me.

I cant find any info on these early caravelles....the caravelle website only has info about the newer boats. So if anyone has anything let me know...So what do you guys think?

Congrats! Looks like a pretty clean rig. For the faded gel coat, I used 3m marine compound/wax. applied with a large angle polisher. Not cheap but it sure brought the color back on mine.

I thought there was some old Caravelle information in the Glassic Library here on this site, but apparently not. I am pretty certain I have a circa 1972 Caravelle brochure in my collection.

But alas I am in Wisconsin for the next two weeks and the brochure is in Minnesota.

I will try to remember to dig it out when I get home.
