TOPIC: Coated deck hardware?

By 1966, they started to switch back to chrome plated hardware on the Niagara and Westfield. The coated hardware had little silver tape stripes that tended to wear quickly. Thanks Dave! Actually, you have answered two questions. When I removed the hardware, between the deck and the metal was a layer (almost like a gasket) of white plastic material, with odd imbedded silver tape. So I am guessing that wasn't a gasket of some type, it was simply all that remained of the original coating! Thanks again,
