store.oldmercs.com/category_s/108.htm

1957 models were produced in "Sunset Orange" & "Sand Tan," all "Charcoal" and in "Quicksilver Green" & "Sand Tan." 1958 models are known to have been painted "Matador" & "Sand Tan" and all "Charcoal". They are reported to have been painted a metallic brown (probably "Cavalry Brown") from top to bottom. Other colors are possible as well.

JK

This is a list of factory Mercury outboard colors for 1955 to 1958 from the Ny Marine site. That would include the Mark 75.

Sarasota Blue 1955-57
Marlin Blue 1955-57
Gulf Blue 1955-57
Sunset Orange 1955-58
Sand Tan 1955-58
Quicksilver Green 1956-57
Metallic Charcoal 1957-58
Burgundy 1958
Cavalry Brown 1958
Aztec Copper 1958
Buckskin Beige 1958
Matador 1958
Sandalwood 1958

Any one of these colors would be a possible combination on a Mark 75, although most of the motors had Sand Tan as the lower color.
The Mark 75A came out in 1959 and was Cloud White.

I have attached a pic of my Mark 75, Marlin Blue upper and Gulf Blue lower that I bought in Michigan a few years ago. At the time, I thought it was repainted because I had never seen that combo before, but the owner insisted that is how he bought it from the dealer. I checked it closely and it's the original paint.

Reprotint Paints out of FL USA are so much better paints than paints from the Co north of the border. They cover better and dry harder.

And there is no exchange rate. The price given is the price you pay

Thank you all for your help. I picked up the motor Saturday and when we got it outside it appears to be Charcoal Metallic. I'm anxious to get it started in a ta nk after sitting for 10+ years.

Hi, I am restoring a 1958 Mark58 that was all Metallic Charcoal at birth. Just wondering if you ever found a paint code to match the Metallic Charcoal color?

I have the top cowling and faceplate for a Metallic Charcoal 55/58. In great shape, however there are many that will tell you that it was a after market custom job
