I probably take the lousiest video clips anywhere but I just love fixin Mercs. Got another one done and off to happy boat land today. 75 HP Merc with T&T on a 17 foot Starcraft

Today's lousy video excuse is too many folks pulling kids on tubes around the pond so I kept my eyes on the water more so than the Merc. At least I do think of the saftey of others.

Can you post some more pics of the Starcraft? Please!

It is an older open bow Starcraft that a customer rehabbed for he and his buds to go fishin in off the coast of Maine. He had a 76 3 cyl 650 that began to give him trouble so I had this 4 cyl 75 that I had gone through top to bottom. Nice fresh water motor that turns out to be a good match for the boat.
I did a later model Starcraft this year also the guy bought a 1989 90 Merc (3 cyl) but that motor needs to be torn down as we found out. A sleeve may have moved out of position so next week I will start to take a hard look at it. I'll take a pic of that too since we are in Starcraft mode!

here are the star craft pics. My Ding A Ling is the name of her. Some other boats In the yard I just finished and one I am working on for me. The newer star craft has the dreaded 90 HP 3 cyl Merc on it. Can't get it to run right so I need to start tearing it down to see if the cylinder sleeve slipped. Good Times Good Times

The little speed boat with the 90 Merc is relly a 115 I am putting together with the newer integral T&T, bobs nose cone etc.....should be a fast and fun little river rat

The mid eighties 90 on the crestliner is a 115 head I re ringed new gaskets, seals and so on

I wood not mind new pistons and rings in my '63 100 hp, but why if it keeps running okay?

What motor do you have Pete? Adding PT&T isn't too difficult, just pricey.

Frank a 1974 650 3 cyl Merc. I dont wanna hijack the thread and get spanked!

I would not have replaced the rings if I think it did not need it. I just went through the motor as thorough as possible for the guy.
