TOPIC: Reassembling the '63 1K

Reassembling the Merc (sick of hearing that yet?). Here's just a taste. The Top Hat reassembled. Before re-painting, the 'black' was faded almost to gray, and some sections had been brush painted. Disassembled the pull start assembly, cleaned and re-greased it. Works nice now. It was so gunked up that it wouldn't retract all the way. That is until I tried to use it, the rope snapped, and I flew past my daughter (she still laughs at me for that). After the season I think I will have top handled re-chromed. Has some bad scratches that aren't buffable
