When I tried the chopper prop on the 1988 Mercury last year (sitting on the motor stand), the blades cleared the setback trim tab by about 1/8". The prop blades may flex somewhat so to be safe I bought another setback trim tab, ground part of the fin off to allow more clearance for a raked prop, thinned the fin for more steamlining, and sanded and buffed it out.
