TOPIC: 6 cylinder syncro tool/degree plate

I'm looking for pictures of the pointer arm that one uses with the degree plate used for setting dwell and synchronizing points on the 6 cylinder engines (mine is a '63 1000). I have an image for the degree plate that I can print, and I hacked together a pointer, but I don't trust it and it falls apart to easily.

I have a friend whom can machine a pointer arm (that which you set onto the distrib)to spec. I have some specs from some post a thousand years ago, and have a question.

Is the pointer arm centered on the tool itself, or offset as are the notches on the distrib shaft?

Also looking for pictures, especially from overhead, of the pointer arm.

The weather is dangerously close to boat-able.... need to get the merc tuned and ready.

Above is a write up I posted on another site. I use standard solder wire to use as a pointer. Wrap it around the shaft and it holds its shape and does not fall off.
