TOPIC: New to the forum and need help!

Hi, and thanks for your time. I have a 1968 MERC 1250 and I need to replace the clamp handles as 1 is broken. How do your replace the backing washer to the clamp to secure the washer. I probably called alls items by the wrong name but thats all I know. Thanks in advance. Scott

i use a ball peen hammer there was a special tool for that job.

Dave's right there is a special tool. But if you don't have one a Ball peen hammer will work. You don't need to peen it much just enough to keep it from sliding off.
