TOPIC: '58 Redfish

I got my Redfish in '13 and only just recently got the space to start my restoration. When I opened up the engine I found this crack on the pull handle cover. Will I need a new plate, can I use JB Weld, or is it more of a "cosmetic" thing and be the least of my concerns? I know the picture isn't very good, I'm posting this from my phone.
