TOPIC: Rub your chrome to a shine

Many ask what to do with chrome on a boat. “Chrome Cleaners” use your hand to rub it to a shine with two things. Chemicals and grit.

Grit in chrome cleaner is similar to sand paper grit. For show chrome use a cleaner with less grit.

Here is one I found at custom car shows. With less grit, expect to rub more, but get a higher shine.

Rub your chrome cleaner back and forth like this and then this one.

I have tried ALOT of chrome cleaners over the years for both my cars and antique Glasspar Boats.

The one that I have used that works the best for me is the "BILLET"
Chrome Polish by "Mothers." While not the cheapest chrome product you can buy, IMHO it really does a great job on chrome and the older aluminum and metal parts that I have on my 1960 Glasspar G-3
and 1960 Glasspar Seafair Sedan.

I use the Mother's Billet polish too. Almost no rubbing needed and really shines up the aluminum stuff. Spendy but a little goes a long way.
