TOPIC: Glasspar Wins Again!!!

Hello All,

I am very pleased to announce the results of the Famous Freddies ACBS Boat Show held yesterday on Pistakee Lake in Northern Illinois.

First and foremost in our eyes is the Fiberglass Category and our beloved Glasspar boats actually captured first and second place trophies.

2nd place was awarded to Brett Kaminski for his completely original 1959 Glasspar Sport Lido.

1st place went to the Dickson family’s originally restored 1959 Glasspar Seafair Sedan “Mama Mia!”

The weather on Saturday was cloudy and we had a few sprinkles pass through. But clearly not enough dampen the fun of what was overall another beautiful summer day on the water enjoying classic boats.

Thanks much everyone. It was really great to see our Glasspar boats receive this level of recognition at an ACBS Blackhawk Chapter event.

One of my favorite boats shown there was this very original 57 Wagemaker Wolverine with 57 Evinrude Lark. Owner Ken Taft went home with an award for most original boat.

Ken also brought this cool 1956 kit boat with original 56 Johnson Seahorse.

How about this boat for a show stopper?

The 1957 Chris Craft Continental was purchased new by Karen Birch's father.

After many years hibernating in a barn Karen had “Birchwood” restored way beyond the original factory luster all in her father’s memory.
