TOPIC: Webell Marine Co

Webell Marine Co 11 years 1 month ago #95933

Hello

I am wondering if anyone has any information or knowledge of the Webell Marine company. I am new to classic boats and have come across a Webell that I like, however the only mention of Webell I have been able to find was in an old magazine article that stated it was located in Santa Ana CA but had no further information. Would very much appreciate any and all information on this company. Here is a picture of the boat I am looking at. It claims to be a 1959 Webell Runabout. I have not yet seen it in person. Thank you

There were zillions of builders of fiberglass watercraft in the Santa Ana and Costa Mesa, CA area. OK, maybe not zillions, but it was a hub of fiberglass boat building. I created a list of boating makers in that general area. I don't have it handy, so cannot reference it. I cannot recall the Webell name, however.

I just fixed it for you.

Some sort of incompatibility with your phone camera storage encoding. I had to change the file type on my machine, then copy it to another type, then back to JPEG - so, i guess I sort of tricked the server into liking the file.

tkanady,

That is a sleek looking craft. could be well worth picking up depending on how much you feel it is worth to you.

Thank you for the help with the picture.

From that distance it is very nice looking, however I saw it in person last night and it has pretty significant chips and spider webbing cracks in the fiberglass. Might end up being a bit more of a project than I thought. Would help if I were able to find any information on the Webell company so I could have an idea of the value of the boat itself.

For now I will keep doing homework to decide if it is something I want to dive into or not. Will keep posted. Thanks guys
