TOPIC: Merc Control box rewiring

I have asked this question elsewhere and got no definitive answer, so I'll ask here. I have had 4 Merc Control boxes from several deals I've beem involved in and all of them have had variable degrees of crumbled insulation and corroded wires. I have used up my supply and cut back and rewired until I have nothing left to work with.
My question is, does anyone know of anywhere that a new wiring harness can be purchased. Yes I know that the internal engine harness is available, but I need the section from control box to engine plug. If I don't find one this winter, I think I'll have to hard wire the control box to the motor. What I have now is a firemans nightmare.

A model & year of the Merc would help, the controls weren't all the same nor were the plugs at the motor.

I bought one for my 650 about 6 years ago well worth the price bought 2 used ones that were bad the connecters in the molded plug were broke also replaced the inner harness much easier than repairing
