Hi all. I was a member a long time ago and decided to renew, since I'm using my boat again. I have a 1959 sooner craft. The original outboard, a 59 merc 70HP, 78A model is being sold, hopefully, on ebay right now. It is listed under 1959 mark 78A outboard.
Being sold with a $20 reserve price in not running condition.

I put a good ol' 64 evinrude in its place--weak but runs reliably. The lake I use it on is small anyway.

If anyone needs a classic merc outboard for parts or restoration, check out the ebay sale.
