TOPIC: My new boat!!

Bought my boat Friday, cleaned the carb, mouse nest out of the motor, new sheer pin for the prop, new gear lube in the lower unit and fresh premix. Runs great. I'm trying to find info about it. Only things I know...1959 35hp Gale, boat and motor say sea king I know from montgomery wards. But what is the model, year and manufacturer of the boat??

pictures will help, and try going to the library there are a lot of the makes and models brochures with the different brands . im sure someone will get it on the first try..

CONGRADS on your find! The model number should be on the OB near the transom clamp. IF the Sea King boat's "data sticker" is missing (as the "stickers" often are) you will I'm afraid be required to look in detail at every STARCRAFT & SEA KING brochure, to get at least close to the year of manufacture and model name.

Your 1959 SeaKing is the same as a 1959 Gale 35DE11B,the Evinrude 35012 or the Johnson RDS21, in every important way except color & trim.
(NAPA auto supply stores sell essentially all the parts under the SIERRA brand. - Generally the NAPA stores in the larger cities carry many of the "high demand parts" in stock. The others they will order for you.)

NICE/TOUGH/SIMPLE/CHEAP to maintain OB.


I'm reasonably sure that your SeaKing boat is the equivalent of a 1958 StarCraft Royal Star, which MAY have been sold new in 1959.
