I picked this up from North Carolina. It's a 58 Duraplane with a Mark 58E and supposed to be on it's original trailer. Thanks for the info.

Neat original boat. Thanks for sharing. I don't believe we have ever had a Durplane posted on the board before. Can you post a photo of the Duraplane logo, if the boat has one?

Thanks Skip! Frog the trailer is a Peterson Brother Inc. Portager trailer but Peterson Brothers did make the Gator so they are identical except the name. I still have to research it a little

The company was started in the mid 1950s by T.I. Weston a WW2 army air corps pilot. His sister Irene Weston is credited for the duraplane logo. To my knowledge he was the first fiberglass boat builder in the southeast. I have also been told that he would go to boat shows with a hammer and let people strike the boat to show how durable it was.
