TOPIC: Adding a splash well and hull staple replacements?

Finally tearing into the "major" work on the Invader runabout. Will be separating the deck and hull this week so I can flip it and take it to the back yard and keep the dust outside when I make repairs to some major gouges in the hull. The boat has no splash well and I'm considering adding one. Any advice to offer pro or con adding a splash well? Also, the hull and deck are attached with heavy stainless staples every 6" or so. I've seen lots of discussion on here about removing them, but I'm destroying most of them in removal and am wondering if I need to replace them with the same thing or if there's something else I should use instead? Thanks!
