TOPIC: 1961 Dorsett Eldorado - 1st Run 1957 Mark 55

Launched my new project on Sunday. We stayed out for a couple hours. I did a make shift transome repair and I am pleased the way things are going so far. Here is some video if your interested. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated.

Looks good & sounds good, but if you haven't replaced the transom, I would just as a precaution attach a decent sized chain to the motor somehow and back to something solid in the boat just in case. Too many outboards sit at the bottom of lakes and rivers due to quick fixes on transoms!

Where were the videos taken? Somewhere in the NE? Spring is right around the corner, and I can't wait to get out to my north yard and pull the old Power Cat out!

Motor sounds good! Going by ear, I'd say your RPM is about right. Seems to pick up well on acceleration.

I'd also replace that transom. Sounds good.

Thank you sir. Videos were taken on Long Islands south shore on South Oyster Bay by Jones Beach State Park. Also known as paradise.
