I am restoring a 1964 Sea King. I found a Gale motor that appears period correct but cannot figure out year or hp. I found the following numbers on the transom: MN - 25DE21BL; SN - 869428. I assume it is a 25hp. No clue on year. It was on a Sea Star I just picked up.
I see some guys on here decipher these numbers well. Any help is greatly appreciated.

normally i go to marineengine.com and use the "look up by model number" feature, but they didn't seem to have any info on Gale products. a little googling and this site came up:

it looks like your motor is a 1963 25hp Buccaneer. i'd wager that the "L" only stands for long shaft, but i am not certain.
