TOPIC: 1958 Runabout Boat Questions

1958 Runabout Boat Questions 14 years 9 months ago #41781

Hey FiberGlassics forum members,

I could use some help identifying what model boat this is that I saw for sale yesterday. It has a great price and the owner takes it out on the lake regularly. I've attached some pictures to help. I know it's a 1958, and has a Merc800 Kiekhaefer outboard. Anything you guys can tell me from the pictures would be much appriciated. Thanks!

-Daniel

And a nice Tee Nee too. This is a wonderful looking rig.

Someone who knows will pipe in when they see it. I like the lines.

Thanks! I fell in love with it when I saw it, and if it runs like the owner says, it will be hard to pass up.

Loks like a 1958 Alumacraft Merrie Maid. One of the first two fiberglass models from Alumacraft. By 1960 the glass boats were labeled as "Alpex".

Daniel, I just purchased this boat today! Where did you see it last August when you posted your questions? It is a neat little boat that came with a ton of original documentation. Just curious, why did you pass on it and how much were they asking at the time?
