TOPIC: Getting Homelite ready

Been taking measurements of the valve clearences. Had to replace the cam because of a broken distributor drive key.
Put my order into Bill Roberts for the proper spacers.
Getting it ready for the pontoon. Next project, rebuild 56 Merc MK55 carbs which is on my Mirror Craft fishing boat.
Also got a 68 Merc 650 to get going. Lots of projects.
Also hope to get the Lone Star back in the water. Powered by a 62 Merc 700 FGS.
The 1960 Larson All- American will probably be in dry dock this year.

Been through that valve adjustment, it was a Fageol V.I.P, same basic design. Have another Homelite coming shortly to work on, I realy like these motors.
You mentioned a Lone Star, what model/year? i'm trying to find a seat refference for a Malibu.

See pics, we need to replace it, there was nothing left in there but rusty dust!

Yep. 62 Fleetwood. 17' The original seats did not come with it.
I got a copy of a flyer somwhere with the specs.

Ron I haven't run it in a couple of years. I think it would go about 30 with a 15" pitch 3 blade prop. Using the speedometer that is on the boat.

Check this out, we had ALL of your requested parts in stock new on the shelf.

All 8 valve spacer shims.
The cam spacer too!
And of course, your replacement ignition switch with key as noted above. When it arrives take the key to locksmith and get a spare made, I was down to the master on that one and you can get a key made cheaper than I can sell it to you so we both win.
And that's the name of the game.
