Commander,
You amaze me! How do you find such gems? I'm already drooling. I just wish you didn't live so far away. Grab it and restore it.
I found a 64 Sea King powered cruiser by a West Bend 80hp (Badged SeaKing) and there is a small cruiser by me powered by a 58 Fat Fifty. Got to do more investigating.
Also you are a very talented person on restoring these old Gems.
I love watching your progress on restoration projects.

It has the look of a Uniflite. Manufactured in Bellingham.

Those "old blue engine" are either 57 or 58 Bigtwins 35 Hp

I will take them and the controller off of your hands if priced right

Uniflite, founded by Art Nordtvedt that co-founded Bell Boy before that. Right color for Christmas for your daughter!

Now that I have this picture thing down you are all in trouble ! Heres a picture of Art Nordvete with Melanie at the Bellingham Maritime Museum. He is the Godfather of Fiberglass Boats . Standing in front of a very nice Skagit !

They also have other boats that Art designed and built right here in Bellingham.

Commander, looks like another great find! I'm like Dave - amazed at what you manage to discover, can't wait to see if you bring this one back. (She looks to be in pretty decent shape.)

We like this kind of trouble Rick, thanks for sharing the pics. ;)

Here's another shot of Art with Rick and the awesome Skagit of Rick's that he recently sold to a neighbor. This photo was taken at the new Bellingham Maritime Museum last March.

Not sure if I buy the Uniflite thing. The cabin layout in the boat is different than what is on the brochure. Also, the emblem over the cabin entrance looks like it says "White" The only other White I know of is a planter over at Defender Industries in Waterford, CT. I'll try to stop over tomorrow or over the weekend to take a look. A detail of the emblem from this boat would be interesting. Where is it located?

Just a guess but I think the boat is located in the lower mainland of British Columbia,Canada. The Uniflite plant was located about 20 minutes from the Canadian border in Bellingham.

Yes you are right it is in the lower mainland just about 20 minutes from the border.I thought it said [united]the owner said he had a 1960 brochure of the boat since when it was bought.I would love to go and see it and ask for a copy to ad to the library section.I for sure i want the engine and the control but he want it also.

Yes, she's a Uniflite, the emblem always causes confusion. It's the United Boat Builders emblem, which was the parent company of Uniflite. UBB started Oct 57, boat name was Sea Flite, but was quickly changed to Uniflite.
There's been another one for sale up here but a really old one with port helm has same emblem same location. I have seen some of them with no Uniflite emblems, just the UBB emblem.

I would say she is either a 1959 or 1960 Uniflite 17 Express..the 58's had different cabin windows and the 61's have a sort of toe cap where the hull and deck are bonded
