TOPIC: Help Identifying 1960s-1970s Fiberglass boat

Can anyone help identify this 14’ fiberglass fishing boat? The Washington title says it’s a 1979 Dorsett, but I can’t find any Dorsett models that match it. The HIN on the title is WNZ7613AA878, and I haven’t been able to locate a HIN on the hull. It’s about 14 feet long with an all-fiberglass hull and a Mercury tiller outboard. Any ideas on the manufacturer or model?

I don't know what the boat is but the hull # WNZ... Is a Washington State assigned number for a pre Nov 1, 1972 built boat so it conforms to USCG numbering standards.
When that number was assigned, the owner was supposed to engrave the number into the boat. BUT to be honest it rarely ever gets done.

Thank you for the reply! This is so hard to navigate, I’d love to continue this project that my dad had envisioned I just don’t even know where to start. The motor seems fine all the parts move freely. Hull seems sound, inside the boat needs some new wood put down and fiberglassed and definitely needs a new paint job. Just don’t know how I’d sell it if I don’t know exactly what it is! I attached some more pictures.

Most likely it will be a labor of love & you will never break even if you sell it.

Don’t know much about Dorsett but have see a few and she definitely has the Raymond Loewy lines.
Your Dad had a sharp eye.

I appreciate the knowledge and kind words Terry! My dad definitely has an eye for stuff like this, he’s very into antiques. Trying to figure out if it’s worth saving and being a project or just trying to get rid of it!

Terry quick question, is that your boat? If so what is the year and model of it? The lines look fairly similar and the front windshield looks like what was on there before I took it off because it broke

Have you looked in the Glassic Library in the menu at the top of this page? My guess would be 1959 Dorsett from what I can see.
