1960s Glaspar Seafair Phateon - QUESTIONS / HELP 2 days 18 hours ago #149641

Evening,

I have what I believe to be a 60s era Glaspar Seafair Phaeton. There is no HIN, VIN or stamp to tell me the year and etc. The boat was originally from California and moved to Oklahoma at some point in 2012. I got it in 2013 and I stored it ever since. I just got it out this last few weeks and I wanted to see about identifying it through photos. I just need some advice on what year it might be, what the plug or hole at the center bottom of the transom (see photos) is suppose to be because everything I've seemed to find say is it suppose to be a 1/2 threaded plug but there is no through there and no plate. So is it a tighten type plug? or? I got a 1/2" rubber plug and it was still a bit big for it.

The boat has the mercury 1500 150hp outboard.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I want to float check it at the lake then move on with replacing the floor, stringers and transom if needed. Thank you!

Good Evening and welcome to FiberGlassics.

Yeah you do! And your Glasspar is beautiful!
Phaetons are the rarest of the Seafairs and in yellow it’s too cool.
Probably needs a transom for sure looking at the plate covering it.
That bilge drain is typical on Seafair hulls.

Thanks,
Terry

Thank you Terry!

For that bilge drain, what plug would I use for it? It doesn't have the threaded type that I can tell. I'm not sure which one to buy for it. Thank you!
