TOPIC: Bell Boy 19.5 questions

Hi All,

Just acquired a 1967 Bell Boy 19.5 a couple months ago, it needs some tlc and restoration, this will be a practice project for me. Not completely new to boating but never really had to do fiberglass work or boat painting etc. (Had a small sailboat and a 13ft runabout about 8 years ago and starting to get back into boating)

been trying to find some data sheet or specs on the boat but no luck, any resources will be appreciated, particularly what is the max hp or motor weight it can support?

I'm interested in a used motor listed locally, it's a Honda BF130 but it weighs 500 lbs, I'm a little concerned maybe it's too much for the boat? If I were to reinforce the transom, how should I do it? The transom does have a small rot the area of about 2" by 3", can I just fiberglass and epoxy over it?
