TOPIC: Need ID help, possible Plastyle

My wife and I just recently rescued this gem from a collapsed shed where it sat for at least 15-20 years. Have had one heck of a time trying to ID it. Have had companies such as Larson, Starcraft, Duo, and Sears mentions and all have similarities, but none have been a good match. Just had Plastyle mentioned and looks promising, but its such a rare boat maker I'm looking for additional input.
Gunwale length 17ft (=/- an inch)
Transom width 61"
Beam 76"
Depth 26"
4 digit hull number on left side of transom
one decal on dash, bad condition

Assuming by "rescue" you don't have any paperwork to go with it?
Go to or write your local Dept. of Natural Resources with that registration number and there should be more info.

No, no paperwork other than a bill of sale which is the minimum I need to get a plate for the trailer and boat registered here in Michigan. The boats previous owner had passed away a while ago and his widow knew little about it

Just got a hold of the Secretary of State and did a search for the MC registration, nothing on file.
