TOPIC: New FiberGlassics website coming soon!

FiberGlassics® is updating the back-end software that runs it. Although the present site runs fairly fine, there are significant reasons to upgrade to some of the latest versions of the platform and components that run it.

The goal of the new site is to keep the look and feel of this site: that has been accomplished. However, the process involves a migration of all of the data contained in the present site. As a consequence, the site will be off-line for several days at least.

The conversion date has not been set yet but I will post it here well in advance.

The main point is that the site will be back with all of the bells and whistles that you are used to.

So, when you come to the site and see a message that we are "offline, converting and coming back soon", don't panic!

When this happens we can all just hit up the fiberglassics facebook page, or maybe Fiberglassics could start a facebook group page, to boost postability on there......

I am thinking it is time for me to hit the Donate button since I do use the site and you all are doing me a big favor in the first place...let alone upgrading from time to time. I am sure things like this take time, effort, and money. Thanks to all for all you do to keep things healthy in the "I.T." world of technology.

FiberGlassics will be offline beginning on Sunday, March 12th at 9 P.M. until the site is migrated to the newest platform. Every attempt will be made to do this quickly so please be patient and work on those projects!

WoW, NICE

Very nice, it's just gonna take some time to get used to. I don't know what it looks like from a computer because I do everything from my phone these days. One thing I've noticed is that some pictures in posts are sideways, and I don't seem to be able to enlarge the pics like I used to. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S4 if that helps with anything.

I just figured out something, turn my phone sideways and hey, everything looks bigger. Lol!!!

I'll look at it with my S6 when I have a bit more time... thanks!

I have also noticed that there is some sort of button beside headings such as "Main Forum" that when you click on it, it shows all the code and text stuff. What is that for and correct me if I am wrong, wouldn't that allow someone to access the inner workings of the site and screw with stuff? Just not wanting any would be hacker hack things up around here.

That button is for subscribing to the forum using a news feed. Although it works for a computer, it does appear to be broken for smartphones. I'll do some research on this as well. Thanks for the heads up!
