TOPIC: What is this

Browsing some listings the other night and came across this. Anyone seen one and can identify? Looks like 70s possibly 60s utility. Thinking with a small 15hp it might be fun for my 8 year old to run around our cove. Thank you

Is that a straddle seat at the helm ?

It looks like some kind of workboat or tender. Odd design but that hull looks like it's stepped ! It should fly with a small motor. Nice toy.

That exactly what it looks like. A straddle seat and looks like a notched hull.
Might be a unique, easy project.

Too bad that is such a low res photo.. There appears to be a capacity label on the inside of the transom which would have the makers name on it. That straddle seat is probably an add on or replacement for a center console. I have seen boat hulls like that but they were mostly tiller steered.
