I have a 35hp Evinrude Jubilee on a 1962 Glaspar Avalon and I believe it runs pretty strong a sea level with a 10.25 X 13 prop 26 to 28 mph. However I would like to increase its performance at 5500 feet where I can only run 19mph, if I could get to 23 to 25 mph I would be really happy. Any ideas on prop.

You'd need to go down in pitch on the prop used at high-altitude. Maybe 2" less pitch would do it.

You'll also need to lean-out the high-speed needle valve if yours is adjustable.

If an 11"-pitch prop doesn't rev up enough, then go to a 10.

Not sure if you'll get the speed you want, but if the engine can achieve full-rated wide-open-throttle rpm, then that's all she's got. And the closer you can get 'er revved-up to rated rpm, the more hp you'll make which hopefully translates to more speed.

Thanks I agree with your assessment of the direction I should go but I'm having a problem finding small props for this old beauty. Not a big deal as I can cruise at under planning speed and be very happy, but as a v drive guy I always want as much speed as I can get.
