TOPIC: 1961 Buehler Turbocraft Jet 35 windshield help

I'm on the last stages of finishing my 1961 Buehler Turbocraft Jet 35. I've sent the windshield out for bid to a company to fabricate a new one, but the bid came back as being cost prohibitive. Any thoughts on getting a replacement or fabricating a new one? Thinking of trying to do that, and have read the article here. I would appreciate everyone's thoughts and experiences. Thanks!
