Looked at a boat with MySpace flake at the surface the clearcoat worn off. Can I sand the metal flake off and still have gel coat left?

So how would you Finnish the boat? Sand down totally and paint?

With metalflake there's not much else you can do. Once the flake is exposed it's pretty much a goner. Just the nature of the beast.
