TOPIC: starcraft ?

What is the purpose of the wood slats on the bow? Would that be original or not? Also, anyone have a clue to what model this may be. It is a 1962, but nothing in the library for 62's.

The only 60's fiberglass SC I could find w/ smooth hull (not lapstrake) and the molded curve on the bow was for 1961:

match the length and width to the specs found on that brochure ^^^

And because the bow slats don't go/fit w/ the molded in curves of the fiberglass, the slats aren't likely to have been original.

I suspect the slats were decorative to mimic larger/later SC's that had the slats or to give someone a place to stand/walk on and off the bow, or to drop a bow anchor overboard.

but it's vinyl....

I would guess the same, place to stand that is not slippery, I have seen several boat images today with bass seats mounted there and a trolling motor and it's on the port side so that your "anchor mate" can get on it around the windshield.

The wood slats would of been added on after it left the factory by one of its former owners.
