I bought my first Evinrude last week. I didn't know what I had bought until I got it home and did some research. The guy said it was a 1946, but I think it may be newer due to the serial number, 4404-71234. I did some quick work with the points and cleaned the fuel screen and got it to run somewhat. I plan to give it a complete restoration.

The 5.4 hp Zephyr is the smallest 4 cyl outboard made. Many of the meet for AOMCI there are races to see how slow one can go with one, and then there is the souped up class. Do anything you want to to make it go faster beside change the displacement.

I saw one at a meet with twin carbs...never saw it run
