Can't seem to find neutral, well I can move motor shift lever from F/N/R, but prop is still engaged in neutral. Just acquired motor so no past history.
All info. appreciated.

Hey , there is a inspection cover on the shaft of the motor with two screws , remove and there is a
coupler that connects upper shift linkage with lower linkage check to make sure this is connected
properly , there is grooves in the end of each end of each shaft for each of the two bolts to lock this
together properly, if the bolts are not in the grooves you have no shift actuation.

The shift clevis bolt, under the powerhead, can also come loose, so when you are checking the shift rod coupler on the side, wiggle the shifter handle and check for lost motion between the handle and the shift rod.

You'll be able to see any issues thru the side access cover, if the problem's not there, the next step would be to disassemble the gearcase for inspection.
