TOPIC: Service Manual for a JOHNSON V4SL-13C

Friends,

As some members know, I just acquired a 1965 (??) La MAR 17 foot runabout with trailer & a 75 HP V4SL-13C that has not been run since the sole owner died in 2013.
(The motor has NEVER been stored outside & LOOKS virtually NEW but I have had NO chance to see if it will even turn-over, much less start. = It was running FINE when stored away after the PO passed away, though that means LITTLE in 2020.)

I have looked allover "the Worldwideweird" for a factory service manual but have NOT found one for sale.
(TWO vendors list a copy for sale on their site but when I called them, both said that they do NOT have a copy.)

IF any member knows of a source for the JOHNSON service manual, PLEASE tell me where to buy it.
(I have found a LOAD of "parts books" from 3.99 to 15.oo per copy but NO service manual.)

I have a 1964 service manual. You'd be welcome to a copy if it would help.
The motor is 80 HP V-4 in an inboard configuration. has distributor ignition.
If you needed a specific portion I could send you a pic or 2.

The old Johnson outboard motor, according to the data plate that is riveted to the motor, plainly says that it is a V4SL-13C & serial number 2232400.

The cowling that LOOKS original, i.e., matches the rest of the paint, plainly says 75 HP on the front.
(The tag also says 75 HP at 4500 RPM.)

FYI, I'm CONFUSED, as I thought that ALL V4SL-13C outboards were 80 HP, too..
(I'm wondering if Johnson "used up some old-stock parts" at the first of 1961 & made some 75 HP V4SL-13 & PERHAPS sold them cheap to their dealers???)

ALSO, YES both 75 & 80 HP Johnson V4SL-13 Outboards are listed. - PASSING ODD, imo.
